By the time I purchased this shredder I had a very large stack of paper to shred. (over +1500 pages). It shredded them without any problems. I just kept feeding it paper until it shut off when it got too hot. You have to let it cool off about 20 min. or so to begin again. After all the shredding, it still runs like new. I shredded less than the max number of pages per shred. I highly recommend oiling it as instructed.
