This shredder has plenty of power with very little noise. It weighs quite a bit which only matters during set up, because the bin pulls out from the front to empty it. The sensor technology that automatically stops the shredder when your fingers get close to the opening does not work well at all. It only stops the shredder when you toch the shinny metal surface on top of the shredder. This is only on one side of the opening so the other side is left unprotected.
