This shredder is a beast. It goes through unopened junk mail envelopes with no problem. The basket is large and removes from the front so that paper does not get everywhere. CD's and credit cards are also not a problem. I got the oil with it. The top of the unit is heavy but you would expect that. I have a huge back log of shredding to get done and this is just the thing. I have not tried to ram a paper clip through it yet but staples are not a problem.
