We purchased this shredder after our other shredder died from exhaustion. This one works well and is quite a bit quieter and appears to have more "muscle". The construction seems a bit questionable as far as durability but then again it is manufactured in China. I have yet to purchase anything made in China that has the overall appearance of being constructed well! It sure would be nice to get "Made in America" back on most of the available products.
